It has been a biosphere reserve since 1997. In 2010 it was the first park in Italy to become a Geopark.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Punta Licosa<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The white tip takes its name from Lucosia, one of the three sirens that Ulysses met during his journey. Punta Licosa marks the border of the Gulf of Salerno. In addition to its paths and nature itineraries, Licosa is adorned with a small island of the same name, home to the lighthouse historically dedicated to sailors. The seven lava sisters, daughters of Aeolus, god of the wind, are located in front of the Sicilian coast, in the province of Messina.
